Programme Structure

Every level includes hands-on labs in every module, a 50-question final assessment and a final project. You may exit at any level with a recognised certificate, or continue to Graduate Diploma.

This module covers Managing your time; Taking effective notes; Organising your study; Learning effectively. Learners finish able to apply effective study skills.

Academic Writing Basics
This module covers Writing clearly and correctly; The paragraph and the essay; Planning and structuring your writing; Referencing and academic integrity. Learners finish able to write clearly with academic integrity.

Thinking and Researching
This module covers Thinking critically; Finding and using sources; Evaluating information; Asking good questions. Learners finish able to think critically and research.
6
Succeeding at University and the Project
This module covers University life and culture; Working and studying with others; Looking after yourself; Foundation project, a study and pathway plan. Learners finish able to succeed at university, and plan your pathway.
Labs Included
Hands-on labs in every module, completed on the C.I.C. online learning platform, run throughout as formative practice with tutor feedback.
Final Assessment
Final knowledge test (50 questions, auto-graded) (40%), Study and pathway plan project (60%). Overall pass mark 70 percent.
Final Project
Study and pathway plan project (60%): A clear study and pathway plan toward university (LO1 to LO8). This is the major piece of work for the level and must be completed to pass.

Becoming an Independent Learner and the Project
