Programme Structure

Every level includes hands-on labs in every module, a 50-question final assessment and a final project. You may exit at any level with a recognised certificate, or continue to Graduate Diploma.

This module covers Hello, greetings and the alphabet; The verb to be, and saying who you are; Personal information, name, country and age; Numbers, phone numbers and email. Learners finish able to greet and introduce yourself.

People and Things
This module covers This, that, these and those; Singular and plural nouns; A, an and the; My, your, his, her, possessives. Learners finish able to talk about people and things.
3
Everyday Life
This module covers Present simple, I, you, we, they; Present simple, he, she, it; Days, time and daily routines; Questions and negatives in the present simple. Learners finish able to describe everyday life.
4
Around Town
This module covers There is and there are; Prepositions of place; Asking for and giving directions; Can and can't, ability and requests. Learners finish able to get around town, and use can.
5
Food, Shopping and Money
This module covers Food and drink, countable and uncountable; Some, any, how much and how many; Shopping, prices and money; Ordering food, I would like. Learners finish able to shop and order food.
6
The Present and the Past
This module covers Present continuous, what is happening now; Present simple or present continuous; Past simple of to be, was and were. Learners finish able to talk about the present and the past.

Final Assessment
Final knowledge test (50 questions, auto-graded) (40%), Speaking and writing portfolio (60%). Overall pass mark 70 percent.
Final Project
Speaking and writing portfolio (60%): Productive skills: a spoken introduction and a written text (LO1 to LO7). This is the major piece of work for the level and must be completed to pass.

This module covers Quantifiers, a lot of, much, many, a few, a little; The body and health problems; Giving advice, should and shouldn't; At the doctor and the pharmacy. Learners finish able to talk about health, and give advice.

Experiences and the Present Perfect
This module covers Present perfect, have you ever; Present perfect or past simple; Been and gone, for and since; Talking about your experiences. Learners finish able to talk about experiences.

Travel and Transport
This module covers Travel and transport vocabulary; Buying tickets and asking about times; Have to and don't have to, rules; At the airport and hotel. Learners finish able to handle travel, and use have to.

Work, School and Daily Routines
This module covers Jobs and workplaces; Adverbs of frequency; Talking about routines and abilities; Making and answering phone calls. Learners finish able to talk about work and routines.

Communication and Review
This module covers Polite requests and offers; Writing messages and emails; Connecting ideas, and, but, because, so. Learners finish able to communicate politely, and portfolio.

This module covers Obligation and advice, must, have to and should; Possibility, might, may and could; Deduction, must be and can't be; Permission and requests, polite modals. Learners finish able to speculate and deduce with modals.

Conditionals and Hypotheticals
This module covers The second conditional; First or second conditional; I wish and if only; Giving advice with If I were you. Learners finish able to use conditionals and hypotheticals.

The Passive and Processes

Verb Patterns and Complementation
This module covers Gerund or infinitive, meaning changes; Verb complementation patterns; The subjunctive and formal patterns; Participle and verbless clauses. Learners finish able to use advanced verb patterns.

Lexis and Collocation
This module covers Collocation and word partnership; Advanced phrasal verbs; Idiom and fixed expressions; Choosing the right word, register and connotation. Learners finish able to use lexis precisely.

Academic Writing 1, The Essay
This module covers Planning an academic essay; Thesis and argumentation; Using and integrating evidence; Introductions and conclusions. Learners finish able to plan and write an essay.

Academic Writing 2, Style and Precision
This module covers Paraphrasing and summarising sources; Referring to sources and avoiding plagiarism; Academic tone and precision; Editing and proofreading your own work. Learners finish able to write with academic style.

Speaking and Presentation
This module covers Giving an academic presentation; Taking part in a seminar; Fluency, hesitation and repair; Stress, intonation and clarity. Learners finish able to present and take part in seminars.

Critical Thinking, Review and Portfolio
This module covers Analysing and evaluating arguments; Synthesising sources; Critical reading and response. Learners finish able to read and think critically.
